The GENESIS II diesel hot water service works on the heat exchange principal known as Hydronic. The basic system comprises of two components. The SS4 diesel furnace and the GENESIS II hot water service. The SS4 furnace generates heating energy by atomizing a diesel/air mixture in a encapsulated burner chamber, a similar principal to our SNUGGER range of air heaters. The difference is the SS4 has a water jacket surrounding it to heat glycol (the same as what is in your car radiator) the heated glycol is then circulated via heater hose to the other components i.e. GENESIS II hot water service and optional Kalori room fan heat exchanger (similar to what is behind the dash of your car) if fitted. The glycol transfers its energy to the GENESIS II water service to heat your fresh water and to the fan heat exchanger to give you cabin heating. The spent glycol is returned by circulating pump to the SS4 furnace to be reheated. The SS4 will continue to produce heat and circulate glycol until there is no more demand for hot water or cabin heating it will then go into standby until heating is required.

SS4 Diesel Coolant furnace

The SS4 4kw furnace is the heart of the GENESIS heating system. It produces the heating energy for hot water and space heating. The unit is weather/splash proof so it can be mounted internally or externally within reason (not on the chassis of an off road vehicle) Ideally the SS4 would be at equal height or lower to the GENESIS hot water service. Requires 12VDC and diesel to operate. Kit included all wiring, control, heater hose, fuel line & pump as well as mounting fasteners and S/S Tee pieces to branch off to a cabin heater. Height=180mm. GENESIS diesel hot water service (can be used with any coolant furnace)

GENESIS (patent pending) is a 316 S/S fully insulated coolant buffer tank incorporating a very efficient 316 S/S plate heat exchanger. the plate heat exchanger transfers the coolants energy to your domestic water. Compared to a header tank with one port that makes it very difficult to bleed a hydronic system, a buffer tank has a coolant inlet and outlet making bleeding the system very easy and the volume of coolant becomes a working part of the system, a huge benefit in a hydronic system. It has a pressurized filler cap to fill the system with coolant. The image shows the SS4 furnace already mounted to the Genesis II.

Include all fittings, hoses, and tempering valve

It can be mounted inside or out.
No incompatible metals to corrode.
Replaces any fresh water heat exchanger/calorifier.
Replaces any marine water heater connected to FWC engine.

Genesis Compact diesel hot water service

We have combined the SS4 furnace and the GENESIS hot water service into one compact platform that includes the tempering valve and all plumbing simplifying the installation and saves you hours of time. The image shows a cabin heater option. The connection ports are already on the GENESIS II unit so the cabin heater can be fitted during initial installation or anytime after.

GENESIS tempering valve

Water coming out of the GENESIS hot water service will be approximately 75deg C. You can control it at your mixer in the shower or galley but it is far safer to regulate it at the water heater. You can set the tempering valve to your preferred temperature i.e 45-50deg.C is a good starting point. It increases your hot water capacity as well.

The SilencioII has 5.5kw output capacity which means it will put all the energy the SS4 furnace produces into you living environment. Two speed brushless computer fans make it very quiet and economical compared to conventional axial or radial fan units. Front grill unscrews to allow the unit to sandwich your kick board. Suitable for use with all coolant furnaces in RV and Marine.
